5 Types of People Who Do Not Survive Storms: Orchestra Concert)
Nov 3, 2024 • Pastor Jonathan Bennett
Summary: Israel is in the midst of a three year famine resulting from sin committed by the previous king, Saul. David seeks to make restitution which requires the killing of seven men in King Saul’s family. David then seeks to comfort Saul’s grieving concubine.
Application: This passage reminds Christians of the consequences of sin and demonstrates the fervor required to make things right once again.
How this passage could point to Christ: Though Mephibosheth was in line to die, he was spared because of a covenant of grace made by the king. We, like Mephibosheth, deserved to perish but are saved through a gracious covenant made by King Jesus.
Big Idea: How we respond to life’s storms matter.
